L.A. Institute of Translation and Interpretation was originally founded as L.A. Institute of Translation and Interpretation in 2003 to breakdown language barriers and improve understanding and communication among people. It was approved by the State of California in 2005 to provide M.A. in Translation and Interpretation and Certificate in Translation and Interpretation, and by the Federal government in 2008 to enrol foreign students. In 2009, the school expanded its program to include: School of International Relations, School of Intercultural Studies, and School of Fine Arts. It expectes to be accredited by 2011..

The world is getting smaller as interactions among nations are rapidly increasing in this age of globalization. As interactions increase, instances of misunderstanding and conflicts also increased, for which language and cultural barriers are largely responsible.
L.A. Institute of International Studies was established in 2003 as L.A. Institute of Translation and Interpretation to provide a bridge over troubled miscommunication between languages. .
We have excellent programs developed by experienced faculty members who are all certified interpreters themselves. We pride ourselves in our unique teaching methods of simultaneous interpretation. Our Center for Translation and Interpretation will continue to provide job assignments for our qualified graduates.
Our School of Mission focuses on language training for mission fields. Our School of International Relations focuses on negotiation and leadership skills. School of Art is consisted of excellent faculty known worldwide. Come to LAIISS, we will train you to develop the maximum potential in you.
