MATI 509 Court Interpretation Tuesdays 7:00-10:00 pm Dr. Daniel Kim
Students are given an overview of the U.S. criminal justice system, legal terminology, civil procedure, and the
interpreter's code of ethics. Students will develop scripts for a mock trial presented at the conclusion of the
course, illustrating the linguistic and cultural issues that arise in court cases.

The student will master medical terminology and practice various modes of consecutive, sight, and
simultaneous interpretation in medical settings, including workers compensation examination and psychiatric
analysis.
